if bison is only needed to generate certain output, and doesn't provide a runtime library to OO, you can install it under /usr/src temporarily, and set the path to it.

Hi!

I have a small problem now: OpenOffice (source, 1.0.1)
now casts fine with bison 1.75, but fails with bison
1.875. I wanted to release the beast, but the
nightmare of having to tell everyone that bison needs
to be downgraded to 1.75 for the compile is making me
hesitate. Until we have versioning of spells (version
2.0 of sorcery?), I see two routes:
1 - I create a OOBison spell, which is nothing more
than bison 1.75, and make it conflict with bison and a
mandatory dependency for OOsrc;
2 - We temporarily roll bison back to 1.75, until
1.875 is better supported.
