I believe that if you compile your own kernel a version.h is created (that's
been the responses to this problem in the past), though if you didn't compile
one the ISO should have copied over the default kernel, which should also
contain a version.h. I didn't have this problem when I installed from 0.9.2,
but then I built my own kernel. So, the first question: did you build your own
kernel?

If not, then that's probably the fix (compile a new kernel) and a bug should
be
filed against the ISO to include version.h (and anything else necessary), but
if so, then the problem lies elsewhere, methinks.
