Howdy,
I am sorry I thought it was another problem. With glibc 2.3.1 and
gettext I had absolutely no problems.
I use "sorcery system-update" almost daily. Probably gettext was updated
on 2002-11-15 and glibc was updated on 2002-11-16 (according to HISTORY
files).
I think if I used "sorcery system-update" not so often, "sorcery queue"
could propose to compile glibc (UPDATED updated) and gettext (VERSION
updated) in improper order:
1. glibc with old gettext and 2. new gettext. Just now I have tried to
simulate it and glibc was compiled first.
How to solve it ?
TRIGGERS file with "on_cast gettext cast_self" certainly solve it, but
in next version of gettext probably this TRIGGERS will be useless.
We would need some "one-shot" triggers which enforce that FIRST after
2002-11-16 glibc will be compiled after gettext and not vice versa.
Another problem could be with "test" grimoire:
DETAILS file of glibc in devel is dated Nov 16 in test Nov 22.
DETAILS file of gettext in devel is dated Nov 16 in test Dec 1.
According these dates, for example on Nov 25, glibc should be recompiled
with old gettext and new gettext should be compile on Dec 1. So glibc
should be recompiled again.
It is very difficult to ensure all "sorcery system-update" ended without
problems. :-((
