OK, let's think. I'm mirroring this into the list so that more knowledgeable people could help out.
First of all, is this happening to Mozilla only? Can you ldd on mozilla-bin and let me know what's there? Maybe some syslog records of relevance? Also, I have "show subprocess diagnostic dialog" in my XFCE configuration panel, that allows me to see diagnostic output of some processes (like when Enigmail can't verify the key etc). Can you enable such feature in your window manager and see if there are any messages while mozilla runs? I guess you can also simply start it from the shell and observe the output (if any). Anything strange with CPU and memory utilization when mozilla starts? Maybe the kernel is killing mozilla because of too much memory consumption. I guess you could also undertake the task of running mozilla with strace, but I'd save that for one of the last chances.
So?

Sergey.

Sergey,

Compile with libIDL is successful. Unfortunately I am still running into a proble I have been having for months with mozilla, over several versions. I get a successful compile, but then when I type `mozilla` on the command line I get nothing, no errors, no window, no response, just a new commandline after a few seconds. This happens as root or a user. Any ideas where to look for hints about what is going on?
