Craig,

Do you have 'devfs=nomount' in your boot loader config (/etc/lilo.conf
under append=, /boot/grub/menu.lst right after the kernel, etc.) and not
have selected "Mount DevFS on boot" when you compiled devfs in the linux
kernel? I _think_ at least one of these might be your problem, but I am
not sure.
