On topic:
I consider the switch to glibc-2.3 a top priority for going in before the
freeze.
Off topic:
I also look forward to Dufflebunk's versioning additions. The only
complaints I've had as to the design, Dufflebunk has or is fixing: the
memory-eating, slow dependency resolution and the lack of versioning
support. Otherwise, Source Mage is a thing of beauty.
Language wars:
As a perl-hacker myself, I do prefer it be written in bash/sed/awk and
standard utilities. I'm thinking lower footprint along the way here. It
will help for the StrongARM port that I will start devoting more time
to after 1.0. Perl's not exactly what you install by default on a
minimalist system like ours. If bash weren't so much nicer, I'd suggest
sh and a restriction to full POSIX compliance. How's that for
"anti-perl"?
