1. Although (one of many) Erics said that samba is fixed, whenever I cast
samba and leave the --with-pam_smbpass
option set I get an error and compilation does not even start :(

Sorry, cannot verify this one. I only get "Connection refused" or if
wget is able to connect (right now for me only us2.samba.org) it
says: "cannot find directory samba/ftp".

You should have a look at http://bugs.sourcemage.org and file a new
bug if you cannot find a suitable one.

2. Doing a rebuild or individual cast of xfsprogs seems to always crash as
the depend for autoconf does not seem
to re-cast autoconf which gets dispelled by something else :(

Works for me.

3. When I cast xfree86 I make some changes to host.def which is then saved
under /etc/sorcery/local (i think, usual place).
Problem I have is that when I do a rebuild this file is not looked at
again and the compile fails :(

Used to be a problem for me, too. Worked since I've been on the
devel grimoire, though.

4. Since my last rebuild I have had a few quirks, such as ... ctrl-l --> no
longer clears a console screen

when typing a long line of commands, instead of wrapping to next line

the text is pushed off the left of the screen

Got the same. Only in xterms and virtual consoles though. gnome-terminal
and konsole behave as they should. No idea, but personally I am okay with that.

Probably also a candiate for a bug report at http://bugs.sourcemage.org

Greetings to all Source Mages,
Peter
