IMO we shouldn't patch anything automagically unless absolutely
necessary. One big problem with all the major distros is that they
stuff countless patches in every software, especially the kernel. The
spell should ask whether the user wants to apply the patch.

One of the strengths of SMGL is that we provide the software pretty
much as it is released by the authors.
