Summary: libiodbc now provides libodbcinst.so
Product: Codex
Version: stable grimoire
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: database
AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: sandalle AT sourcemage.org
I have updated libiodbc to symlink libodbcinst.so to libiodbcinst.so, which
allows ODBC-MGR to be provided by unixodbc or libiodbc (at least as far as
jdk6-bin is concerned).
libiodbc already symlinks libodbc.so to libiodbc.so.
Since the affected packages are in z-rejected, this change needs to go to
stable for the full fix.
Testing http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml with the libiodbc
change passes. Without these changes, KDE 4.4 (via soprano and virtuoso)
depends on libiodbc, by jdk6-bin depends on unixodbc, so you cannot have both
KDE 4.4 and JDK6 (which depends on unixodbc which auto-conflicting with
libiodbc).
I have fixed the z-java dependencies in z-rejected to use ODBC-MGR instead of
unixodbc.
