Ulrich hasn't released a tarball in about 6 years. It was another GNU dev who
provided the tarballs, but he doesn't seem inclined to do it anymore.

According to the GNU devs, they are using CVS tags for the glibc releases, so
we should use those and we can then use SOURCE_HASH/SOURCE_GPG since the tags
shouldn't change. If they do change, we'll want to re-test the change and then
re-sign the tarball.

So, IMO, we should use the CVS tags *and* sign (hash or GPG) the glibc
checkouts *or* generate our own tarballs. I'm for the former, until it becomes
too much of a PITA.

My main beef with the checkout from CVS is no signage or verification it's
what
we want.
