Summary: mesalib doesn't install properly when there is a broken
symlink /usr/lib/dri -> /usr/lib/modules/dri
Product: Codex
Version: test grimoire
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: xorg-modular
AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: drjschn AT gmx.de

After doing the following updates my xorg-server lost it's glx support:

update mesalib 7.0.4 -> 7.2
update xf86-video-i810 being deprecated so xf86-video-intel got cast instead
update xorg-server 1.4.2 -> 1.5.2

The message in /var/log/Xorg.0.log looked like this:

(EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/i915_dri.so failed
(/usr/lib/dri/i915_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory)

The cause was a broken symlink /usr/lib/dri -> /usr/lib/modules/dri which
might
have been generated automagically because mesalib used the latter directory in
the past. OTOH i may have created it myself also but then i forgot ;-)

May this bug help others (whether it's their fault or not)...

As suggested on irc it may further be sensible to handle this case in
mesalib/INSTALL
