Summary: system clock repeatedly gets botched after system-update
Product: Codex
Version: stable grimoire
Platform: Other
URL: http://http://ftp.cwi.nl/aeb/util-linux
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: utils
AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: demaillists AT comcast.net

System clock repeatedly gets botched after `sorcery system-update` or
similar.
I always use hwclock to update. However, my time keeps getting reset when I
haven't requested it. I suspect hwclock (util-linux-2.21r package) or
similar.
/etc/adjtime should never be touched after initial install unless the user
specifically requests it.

Will monitor /etc/adjtime to see if it's the problem.

This is easily fixed by the following:
hwclock --utc --set --date="02/19/2008 20:54:55"
hwclock --utc --hctosys
Then my time continues on until it gets trashed again. hwclock has been
unable
to compenstate for systematic drift. (Thus, why I suspect /etc/adjtime is
being
over-written.)
