Not really so.

and that's the point. This is what configure script says:

--with-gpgme-prefix=PFX prefix where GPGME is installed (optional)
--with-gpg-error-prefix=PFX prefix where GPG Error is installed (optional)

both gpgme and gpg-error are *optional*. One may wish to build
--with-gpgme-prefix= but without --with-gpg-error-prefix= and it [the program]
will build successfully (checked this myself).

The current DEPENDS lets a user basically answer the questions he would have
to
give answer to as if he was to ./configure the spell manually. Both questions
are optional and the description configure script provides isn't any clearer
than the questions the basket spell asks.

Actually they are not.

And you must have the liberty to do so. This is what current DEPENDS provides
you with.

I have read somewhere on the wiki that we strive not to make decisions for a
user as gentoo camp does. This is what (it seems to me so at least) you're
currently suggesting, e.g. make a decision on behalf of a user, if I
understood
you correctly.

Why should one do so when both switches are optional?

This is really getting into more of a debate now and I'm honestly not really
getting what you're trying to convey. Please, provide the valid example of the
spell's DEPENDS as you see it should be.

I've voiced my opinion already and if you need to comment on feel free to do
so.
