Summary: dash, a minimal POSIX sh implementation
Product: New Spells
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Spell Submission
AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: sqweek AT gmail.com
See summary. I don't have a lot to say about it, and nor does its website:
http://gondor.apana.org.au/~herbert/dash/
One issue I would raise is the /bin/sh symlink. I installed dash a month ago
and manually symlinked /bin/sh to /bin/dash, which is where all my recent sh
incompatibility reports have come from.
So, I can be reasonably sure by now nothing is going to totally break from
having POSIX sh as /bin/sh instead of bash, though there is likely
incompatibilities in spells I haven't cast (profile scripts seem to be the
main
offender).
But I'll leave to you guys the best way to approach it, since it implies a
change to the bash spell also.
