I can reproduce it, only on a particular case : if the machine hanged up ...

When there's a total freeze of the system, and a hard reboot is done, next
time
booting the lock file for dbus is already there.

Maybe the /var/run dir should be mounted on ram; so it could be clean
correctly
even when there's a hang-up

I believe it used to be a default setting for Sourcemage, see commented-out
fstab entries. I'm running all systems like this:

tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
tmpfs /var/lock tmpfs defaults 0 0
tmpfs /var/run tmpfs defaults 0 0
...and /tmp as well.

I have this with a lot of apps an basicaly there's a solution I think we
should
adopt for all. Have a special start-boot function in the script which init
only calls on bootup which cleans out all the unwanted stale files. It's what
I use on my moms box lately since it's been having some probs...

That would need Bug #9069 fixed (applies to /tmp, but could be generalized to
all directories needing cleaning).

You also might want to file a bug for the ISO you installed from (and have it
depend on this) saying that those /etc/fstab entries should be uncommented
until
Bug #9069 is fixed.
