Summary: Intel ASL compiler
Product: New Spells
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Spell Submission
AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: juuso.alasuutari AT tamperelainen.org

This is a spell for the Intel ASL compiler. It compiles ACPI Source Language
(ASL) into ACPI Machine Language (AML) images. AML is the language of
Differentiated System Description Tables (DSDT), and IASL is needed when
fixing buggy DSDT's (a quite common problem with laptops, as they use many
ACPI features).

IASL is released under Intel's own, non-GPL compatible licence, so this goes
into z-rejected/z-devel. If someone thinks /z-utils is more appropriate,
that's OK by me.

The source package has no installation script (no 'make install', only
'make'). Therefore the resulting binary (iasl) is copied by this spell
to /usr/bin.
