Summary: slang breaks slrn
Product: Codex
Version: test grimoire
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: devel

Hi,
I just updated slang to the latest version and it seems to break slrn in a big
way. Slrn complains that it can not find libslang.so.1 which is indeed
missing.
I checked `gaze install slang` and it wasn't in there. I tried creating a
symlink but then I get complaints about a missing symbol.
My second try was to rebuild slrn but that failed on art.c :-( For the time
being I rolled back to the old slang to get slrn working again.

there is a prerelease version of slrn which supports slang2

I had the same problem with slang pulling libslang.so.1 out from under aalib
and mplayer. Both of them rebuilt fine though.
I was thinking slang just needed a trigger to recast its dependants on a
major
version change but if apps need to be rewritten to support the new version I
guess it's a bit more complicated.
