Thanks for your support Jeremy,

I think I have some spare resources for the new SMGL infrastructure to
migrate to. Unless anyone has any objections, I could start looking
into it as early as the end of next week.

If we all feel strongly about voting and changing things ASAP,
especially if it's something that could accelerate our growth or fix
some of the old issues at the moment, I'd be glad to hear about any
proposals regarding it too.

SMGL,

After 12-something years and thousands of dollars in hosting fees, it's
time for me to ask the project to find another hardware home. Obviously I'm
not doing much of anything with SMGL anymore and though I still believe in
it and would prefer to be a part of things, I'm not, and I need to reclaim
the resources.

I can leave the current set up in place until the end of 2018. I know you
have donated/shared options now, but that gives you a little time to find
another dedicated option if anyone still has that as a priority.

Regardless, it doesn't appear the project has done any lead voting since
the "temporary" vote for PL in mid 2016. Given how few participate right
now I assume anyone who wanted to complain about that would have done so,
but I'm going to go ahead and give you a few days to decide if I should
just hand the DNS over to the current PL or if you want a vote on anything
first. If no one says otherwise, I'll assume the former.

Thanks.

I think Vlad (Stealth) is doing a great job keeping SMGL running and feel comfortable with him handling the resource takeover. :)

I agree with Thomas O.'s point about limited resources and voting, but if any Lead+ developer does want to trigger a vote, per http://sourcemage.org/Policy/Voting :
If at any time a Project or Component Lead position is empty (due to lack of available candidates, etc.), the Project Lead (or any Lead Developer, in the case of a Project Lead vacancy) MAY schedule a new vote for a temporary Lead to fill the position until the next scheduled election. The vote will continue as described above.

As I live out in the woods on an island using 4G LTE/3G Internet access, my hosting options are non-existent. ;) I travel to the local Starbucks in town to download my SMGL source tarball updates and bring them home to share via NFS. ;)
