Yeah, it does that with wmii for example. I think sqweek identified the
problem to be related to xkbdata somehow.
Apparently using in your .xinitrc
'exec wmii -- -kb' instead of
'exec wmii' solves the problem here.
Dunno if you could apply that to your favorite wm though.
