Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any explicit suggestions about improving the
sub dependency docs:
http://wiki.sourcemage.org/SUB_DEPENDS
http://wiki.sourcemage.org/PRE_SUB_DEPENDS
Subdependencies have an (unjust) status of being black magic, but they are
actually not that hard to use and the benefits for the user can* be big.
If anyone doesn't know yet, they enable us to not only depend on some spell,
but to specifically request a feature or few (p.e. an enabled optional
dependency). Live examples are on the wiki (they will be expanded as we get
more interesting cases).
The specs are a bit outdated and complicated, so maybe it is best to avoid
pondering too long about that and focus on the "practical" aspects of
things - the spell files.
If you're looking for an exercise/test, here are some real subdep tasks:
kdebase needs qt-x11 compiled with multithreading support.
http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9472
http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10726
...
So I'll repeat; any constructive comments on the docs or code questions are
most welcome.

*or will be, currently subdependencies are only used in devel sorcery. That
doesn't mean you shouldn't use them as we have fallbacks in libcompat for
stable/test users.
