One problem is getting out of sync with each other. If you rebuild
gcc with different optimizations (no version update!) and dont rebuild
g++ with the same optimizations (our post-install instructions used to
say to rebuild gcc, but didnt mention g++), then g++ wont work properly
in some cases. There have been probably a dozen cases of this on irc.

Yes, this could also be fixed with up-triggers, but to my knowledge it
hasn't yet and still shows up from time to time.
