Howdy everyone. I've been meaning to drop a note to this list for quite some time. As the subject suggests, I've sort of dropped off the face of the earth with regards to smgl.
It'd probably be a good idea for someone to remove my perforce account.
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who contributes in any form to SMGL. I regret that I was not able to find time to contribute more. For a couple of years, I had been using SMGL almost exclusively at work, using a single typical source-based SMGL install to generate binary packages/grimoires for the remaining computers. We had roughly 30 machines at one point using SMGL.
Unfortunately, the time involved in maintaining this system was much more than I could afford and reluctantly moved everything to a more standard rpm based system last fall. This has required me to install the same system on my primary machine for testing, diagnosing, development, etc.
I will be keeping a SMGL box or two around to play with whenever I can spare some time.
Keep up the good work. SMGL has a number of strong points, but the most important of these from my perspective is the great people involved in the project. It is rare to find a community that takes as much time as I have seen people take on this list and in irc helping out new users.
Thanks again to all!
