We could change that (back) for the next ISO if it's really wanted, atm we
have someone (David Kowis) who's entirely redoing the menu though, so we
might not want to pour too much energy into the old menu.

Yeah, we could have that with some easy code (though not really obvious):

. /usr/sbin/sorcery -v >/dev/null
optimize_architecture
)

for best results, run inside the /mnt/root chroot with a working /dev.

We had some patched glibc and gcc pulled into it because of issues
upgrading from the old versions. Other than that, we use stable iirc.
If those spells aren't in stable yet by the next release, I would strongly
urge to put them on "hold" in the installed packages file and document that
verbosely.
