I would recommend using the proxy since it has a faster pipe and for
most sync's (eg nightly syncs) most everything will be cached and that'll
lower the load on tony's connection. As I understand it, if you submit
through the proxy it caches those changes and when someone else syncs
it pulls the changes from the proxy, so if everyone uses it, everything
will get cached.

Its a lot harder to ddos the perforce server with the proxy in front of
it, but not impossible, if everyone requests things that arent cached
the requests go through to the server as if it wasnt there at all. But
most things are cached now (some of us didnt start updating my sandboxes
until adam setup the proxy), and we're hopefully not going to do much
re-arranging so the likelyhood of everyone requesting stuff that isnt
cached simultaneously is pretty low.
