I'll take a look. I had started working on one over the weekend. The spell you attached doesn't specify an explicit mozilla-five-home directory. Will this cause problems between thunderbird and firefox if they are both installing to /usr/lib/mozilla? I think it should be possible to use /usr/lib/{mozilla,firefox,thunderbird} to keep them from interfering with each other and allow all three to be installed (currently firefox conflicts with mozilla).
I will try to experiment later this weekend...

Hi!
Is there anyone working on a thunderbird spell? I'm migrating
from mozilla to firefox/thunderbird and except for the two
source mage machines at home it was fairly easy. It would
be a shame to use the binary, wouldn't it?
Any suggestions or advice on how to compile thunderbird
are welcome. I will try my best when the download completes
(slow internet today).
Kind regards,
Peter
There's a thunderbird work in progress spell in the devel grimoire, I'm
attaching it in case anyone wants to help with it.
