- Subject: [SM-Discuss] Questions on my new ATI card

Hey folks,
I just installed an ATI 8800 Radeon last night.
All is going well now. Save that Tuxracer and Glaxium are really slow.
I have glx and dri enabled in my xorg setup and am using the 'ati'
driver (not the binary from ATI itself).
In my kernel i have Direct Rendering Manager -> ATI Radeon built as a
module. I have MesaLib and glut cast.
My question is, should i cast dri? How badly will this screw my system?
Will the the dri.sourceforge.net stuff be entered into the kernel, like
alsa is now, so all i have to to is wait awhile? I assume that the DRM
in the kernel and the dri.sourceforge.net are not the same thing.
Thanks folks,
Bearcat M. Sandor
