I tried getting them to work so I could get better graphics with
Neverwinter Nights but I was unable to get it to build properly.
Not sure where the problem was though as they did have it enable to
build with the 2.6.0-test kernels.
You don't need to have the XFree86 src tree to build it though.
GCC 3.3.2
glibc 2.3.2
kernel 2.6.0-test9
XFree86 4.3.99.14
Tried building the kernel modules and got this
----------------------------------------------
probing for VMA API version...
cc_ret_vma_240 = 1
cc_ret_vma_253 = 1
check results are inconsistent!!!
none of the probed versions did succeed.
aborting module build.
----------------------------------------------
Modified the following two files
----------------------------------------------
/usr/src/linux-2.6.0-test9/include/asm-i386/mpspec.h line 6
changed to #include <asm/mach-default/mach_mpspec.h> from #include
<mach_mpspec.h>
/usr/src/linux-2.6.0-test9/include/asm-i386/smp.h line 73
changed to #include <asm/mach-default/mach_apicdef.h> from #include
<mach_apicdef.h>
----------------------------------------------
Tried building the kernel modules again and got this
----------------------------------------------
doing Makefile based build for kernel 2.6.x and higher
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.0-test9/build
SUBDIRS=/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.0-test9'
*** Warning: Overriding SUBDIRS on the command line can cause

Building modules, stage 2.
