Not really - at least not readily so. I know next to nothing about
haskell, and their "modules" documentation definitely leaves something
to be desired.

I generally would. However, I really only did all this work just to
build darcs just to check out the head branch of a single particular
project. It was rather frustrating, so I put it into spells just so
someone else wouldn't have to go through it also.

Hence, I honestly put in a bare minimum of effort on anything that
wasn't related to the proper installation of the software.

K. I actually thought about that, but since everything in this commit
has pretty solid interdependencies I figured it didn't matter much. If
you take only one part of this and push it to our current stable it won't
build anyway.
