If a package links against GPL software, it is then GPL'd (unless that
software has an exception clause). LGPL does not have this issue
against linking.

However, the game code itself is GPL'd, so no matter where it's built
or what it links against, it will be GPL'd. The libraries it includes
may not be GPL'd, and that's where some of the questions you are asking
seem to be. Say this includes the Visual C++ runtime for the Windows
binaries, that is certainl not GPL'd, but we won't (see below) be
installing that, so for our intents (IMO and IANAL) we may ignore that.

Don't install "useless" files (e.g. files for another OS).
