About 2 or 3 months ago, it was decided that we should have a mail list which
would receive notifications from freshmeat.net and sourceforge.net about
updated software.

About a month later when I went to investigate it's possibility, I discovered
that we could not add a mail list on our own. We sent a message to ibiblio
requesting a new mail list, or asking how we could get a new one, and have
yet to hear back from them, that I know of.

While doing the mail list admin tasks this morning, it occurred to me that
the
SM-Spell-Submit list is still active and has had no real mail submitted to it
in over 3.5 months. We could just start using it as it is, and get this idea
moving forward. We would probably need to do something about the
subscription list, but that would be no big deal.

What do you all think?
