Getting started beekeeping this spring? There's no need to wait for a nuc or package -- you can get your bees right now!

Andi Bradsher, an OCBA Youth Apprentice from a couple of years ago, is closing down her bee yard in order to raise money for a mission trip to Haiti. She has two colonies in all mediums (I think 10-frame, but you'll need to confirm), plus additional equipment -- everything you need to get started.

Both of her colonies were started from nucs last spring. One nuc came from Master Beekeeper Todd Walker, the other from Master Beekeeper Randall Austin. Both of the queens are locally-raised from long-standing, locally-adapted bloodlines in their respective bee yards, bred for gentleness and productivity. Both bee yards have produced a number of ribbons for honey & honey products at the NC State Fair. :-)

Andi is in Roxboro, not far from the hospital. If you are interested, reply ASAP to her mom, Amy (amybradsher AT gmail.com) with an outrageously generous offer. The bees themselves are worth well over $175 for each colony and the equipment is fairly new.
