VP REPORT.  Whitney Barnes let the group know the upcoming meeting topics will be "Preparing for Winter" by Todd Walker and will also have a commercial beekeeper come to speak about their experiences in the industry.

Frank is heading up the 4-H Beekeepers group.  Currently out of town but will be putting together a set schedule for meetings.  On Frank's behalf, Todd presented a motion, which passed, to purchase 5 "First Lessons of Beekeeping" for the 4-H group to use.

State Fair Booth Committee will be starting to meet.  Whitney spoke to Kim, she is interested in chairing the committee.

FUND RAISING.  Mac Blanks provided T-shirts for those that ordered them.  The "Honey" color the club likes as an "Official Shirt", will no longer be available. He will try to come up with a similar color.  A motion was made and passed to print raffle tickets for the Honey of the Month club fund raiser.

NEW BUSINESS.

PERSON COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK.  Lynn Wilson presented an opportunity that was suggested to the PCBA from Person County Veterans.  The veterans are completing the development of the Person County Veterans Memorial Park.  The park is near completion but needs landscaping and a garden.  It was requested that PCBA assist by providing the project with a Pollinator Garden.  A motion was made and passed for $2000 to implement a Pollinator Garden in memorial park.  Lynn Wilson will chair a committee that will work with the gardeners, landscapers, and all involved to make sure the expenditure is used properly.  The committee will report to the executive committee for approval of the expenditure.

WHAT YOU MIGHT SEE IN YOUR COLONY, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY.  Will Hicks, NCDA & CS, presented a slide show presentation of different situations he sees in hives on inspections.  The presentation provided the group with scenarios that a beekeeper may slightly fear on to real serious problems.  Will summarized his presentation; Bees need good nutrition, a good Queen and be Disease/Pest free to be successful.
