Chatham Gardener - May 11, 2015

 

NC Cooperative Extension – Chatham County Center, presents:

 

Growing and Using Culinary Herbs

 

When:

·        Tuesday, June 2, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

·        Wednesday, June 3, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Please note: This is the same workshop offered on two different dates to accommodate participants’ schedules and to keep class size small.

In the auditorium of the Agriculture Building, 65 E. Chatham St., Pittsboro – click here for directions

 

Description:

Join Extension agents Charlotte Glen and Phyllis Smith to learn how to grow and use culinary herbs in your garden and kitchen. During this class, Charlotte will discuss growing herbs such as basil, cilantro, parsley, thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary, and chives in piedmont gardens, while Phyllis will teach you how to use herbs in everyday cooking to add flavor and reduce salt in your diet. Class participants will have the opportunity to taste popular varieties of easy to grow culinary herbs.

 

Cost and Registration:

·        $5 per participant, non-refundable. We are not able to accept payment by credit card. Please pay by cash, check or money order.

·        Registration with payment is due by May 26, 2015.

Please make checks/money orders payable to Chatham County Cooperative Extension. Registration forms and payment can be dropped off at the Chatham Extension Center located in the Agriculture Building, 65 East Chatham Street, Pittsboro, between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday, or mailed to:
