I hope not to stray too far from Percy with this, but when I think of "making judgments" I think of America's foreign policy. Whether you agree with this administration's decisions or not, you have to admit they have made some decisive judgments: that terrorism is "evil", that we are on the side of "good", and that sometimes, when you deal with the chaos of evil, you have to be extremely pro-active (read militaristic), because you can't be diplomatic with the world of chaos. The decision to go to war may be a bad one, but then again, maybe not. Hey at least you know where you are going. George W. is certainly leading us somewhere. Whether or not he is a bad leader is well...for you to judge. Sometimes, I think that the fear of judgment has left us without identity, and perhaps that is why we feel lost, at least in this country. Im all for making judgments. Someone has to make them, it might as well be us!
