This will be a very mini-synthesis.
I'm leaving for Oregon early tomorrow morning, and will be without
internet access until Sunday or Monday - so I just wanted to briefly
acknowledge where we're at:
1. Chad will (if he already hasn't) post the mission and vision
statements on the website. If other people agree with Johns's
criticisms, please speak up, and I will edit them accordingly when I
return from Oregon.
Also, our pcplantdb and piw lists on the Ibiblio website *still* have
"[no description available]" (weren't you taking care of this Lawrence?).
But they will soon.
2. We're discussing applying for a SARE grant, and networking with ag
professionals and extension specialists. This could be very promising.
3. Chad's pretty frustrated with ZOPE, and about to initiate an exciting
personal venture (congratulations and good luck!). We might be shifting
gears to another platform. I suggest we give him time to make this
personal transition and let him clear his mind, and then resume this
conversation.
4. I work on the same block that Bear lives on. And we seem to know all
the same people. We might even be the same person.
5. Still planning to round up EIE references for you. Johns, if you are
curious/critical, snoop around too.
That's it for now.
And Chad, I'm definitely into Johns's suggestion of doing whatever it
takes to make this fun again!
ok, I'll be back...
a la prochaine
