After working a little with openfarmtech.org and watch the data
accumulate there without a clear way to interface it, the model below the asterix line
is one I'm thinking of using for myself. Also: Jedd, you could treat inanimate objects as if they are animate (are given birth to, have a lifetime, mix well with some and not with others, deterioate and turn into something else). One way to track relationships might be with a seven field code in the entities main table (haven't thought this through yet, but will). So that if the codes of one entity match up with another entity's code in a certain way, we know the first entity is perfect prey for the other entity... or have an affinity for each other. Or another way is un-normalized tables of relationships of say: prey-predator, antagonistic (each other's behaviors or waste products are bad for each other), symbiotic, or parasitic. Given your PDB, do you have any way to calculate how large these un-normalized tables would become? ************************************************************************************************ submittable objects: -drawing (editable or non-editable depicting structure, process,or conceptual map) -picture (any individual still picture that is not a drawing -includes art) -map (representation of physicial geography or astronomical) -videos (any moving picture file) how to informational journal other -text (of any format) how to informational journal other Organization: (would be the navigation bar found on http://akvo.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) -Shelter -Water -Energy -Food (insert which organism you wish to feed and the type of food) -Stone (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) -Soil (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) -Plants (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) -Animals (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by -people included) -Insects (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) -Fungi (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) -Bacteria (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) -Viruses (includes all things extracted from or manufactured by) A Search By Percipatation, Soil Type, Temperature Range, Average Daily Wind Speed and Range, Average Daily Solar Irradiance, returns all items which love these conditions (putting a not sign returns items which dislike these conditions). A Search for an unbalanced condition (examples: shelter, human, cold; or infestation, fungi, soil) returns all items related to this unbalanced condition. Formal Wiki with above organization and the supporting embedded databases Informal Wiki (unsorted, unverified information) All objects submitted must be okayed before release/posting to Informal Wiki All objects must be submitted with an Organizational Type Any object submitted with an incorrect Organizational Type will be posted in correct Type with original submitted type with reason why moved to different Type. Any object refused for the Formal Wiki will be marked as such with posted reason (unsubstantiated claim, not independantly verified) The Informal Wiki feeds the Formal Wiki and embedded databases. |
