Subject: Need more help at the State Fair NCSBA Honey Sales booth

I'm contacting you not as an official NCSBA representative but as a fellow beekeeper in the local area.  I'm trying to get more local people to volunteer to work at the State Fair NCSBA Honey sales booth since we live so close, relatively speaking.

I'm re-sending the original request about this to some of the Chapters closer to Raleigh (Wake, Chatham, Johnston, Orange, Granville, Durham, Five County and Franklin --. I'm a member of three of these).  There has been a poor response to-date  which you can see by clicking on the signup Genius link.  Please pass this request along to your members if you have not already done so and encourage them to volunteer for one or more shifts.  It is my understanding  that working at the fair counts as a service credit for the Master Beekeeper Program (2 years maximum)..  Also, Kim told me that people do not have to be members of the NCSBA to work at the booth but should be members of a local chapter.

Thanks for helping with this.

NCSBA 2016 State Fair Honey Booth's State Fair Time! That means it is time to sell HONEY!

The NCSBA will be selling North Carolina Honey at the 2016 NC State Fair.

This is the largest fund-raising event for the NCSBA and we need your help to make this a success.  We need volunteers to help set up and work the booth selling honey during the Fair.

Set Up: Tuesday, October 11th:  and possibly on Wednesday if need be.
Setting up includes: unloading cases of honey, stocking the booth, storage organization and taking inventory.  See sign up for shift time.

Fair Booth Dates:  October 13th-23rd.  See sign up for dates and shift times.
Admittance: Limited number of free admission tickets will be available for all those under the age of 65.  Those who are 65+ years young receive free admittance into the fair and will not need a ticket.

Complimentary admission tickets are first come, first serve.  The tickets can be picked up at: Big Oak Bee Farm, 2633 Branch Road, Raleigh, NC 27610 any time of day.  The tickets will be in a bee hive (empty of course) located at the entrance of the Underhill's driveway as time draws near.

Parking: Volunteers will be responsible to pay for parking.

Follow this link for sign up slots and shifts:

Thank you!
