Hi All, I’ve had at least 3 swarms so far this spring and captured the first one in a homemade nuc box made from this website (http://www.squidoo.com/6-easy-steps-to-make-a-nuc-box#module156964573). The second one got away, it stayed about 24 hours and off it went to la la land. Just captured the third one yesterday and I am not yet sure if it will stay. Can anyone give me pointers on how to make bees like me and want to stay put? I’ve been putting a boardman feeder in the immediate vicinity, like either right inside the box with 3 frames, or on the front of a deep with a base and top and 9 frames, all foundation comb. The first swarm was caught two weeks ago and yesterday I went inside for the first time. There are 5 deep frames, wired comb, one started with already drawn comb, the other four from foundation. There was honey, pollen, eggs and larvae, nothing capped yet, but far enough along that if someone needs to start over, this should help launch them. I would be willing to sell the bees/queen and the frames in exchange for 5 deep frames in good condition with drawn wired comb + $100. If that is reasonable… Thanks! Thomas B.
