Dr. Ambrose asked me to pass this message on to anyone who might be interested. He wrote:

We are training a new group of beekeeper volunteers to work at the Honey Bee Exhibit at the NC Zoo in Asheboro..  The exhibit is really impressive and it is a highlight for many of the visitors to the Zoo.  It is the only exhibit that is staffed by a group of specialists (beekeepers) - all of the other exhibits are manned by general zoo volunteers.

I will be training a new group of volunteers for the Bee Exhibit on April 12. 2014 in Asheboro at the Zoo..  Would you mind sharing this with your Orange Co. Beekeepers, and tell them to contact me if they are interested?  If they go through the training. they become a volunteer and their efforts count towards the public service requirements of the NC Master Beekeeper Program.  They get a very nice metal name tag, a yellow shirt that identifies them as as a bee volunteer, and the NCSBA pays their volunteer dues to the Zoo plus other benefits including a lot of fun and satisfaction.  Volunteers also have the opportunity to sell their honey at the Zoo.all of you on the listerv.
