Dear All - We would appreciate your sharing the following information with your chapter members.
 
On Thursday, 12. August we are offering an Orientation and Training Workshop for beekeepers interested in volunteering at the permanent Honey Bee Exhibit at the NC Zoo in Asheboro, NC.  As a volunteer you will interact with visitors to answer question about honey bees and beekeeping.
 
Time:  1 PM on Thursday, 12. August  -  arrive about 20 minutes early to fill out
                                                                     an information form  Bring a picture ID
 
            Toy Jarrett, Zoo Volunteer Coordinator will discuss Zoo regulations and policies
 
            2 PM  Dr. John Ambrose will review the importance of honey bees, important
                       topics for the public, apitherapy, pesticides, etc.
                       During this time you will meet some of the active beekeeper volunteers
                        and can ask specific questions.
 
Place:   Stedman Education Building, NC  Zoo Asheboro, NC.  Park in the North America
               Parking lot.  The Stedman Building is the gray building left of the North America
               main gate.
 
    The NCSBA is currently paying for the required yellow volunteer shirt worn by all NC Zoo Volunteers and the required membership in the Zoo Volunteer Association.  We hope you will support the NCSBA with your membership.  The zoo will run your name through the National Sex Offenders Website. A photograph will be made to use as your permanent ID.  Additional information can be found at www.nczoo.org/volunteer.
