Aggie, I would love to help also. I don't think I have the equipment to extract your honey but if several of us get together at your house I know we could get the job done. Sorry that you're not feeling so good these days but surely better days are ahead for you. Hope to see you real soon. Thanks for the congrats on the awards won by OCBA members at the Summer Meeting. It was a real good one and I'm sure Lewis and Geneva will be sending out some photos taken last night to document our winnings.  We were so proud!    Gayle

Hello Beekeepers!
First of all, congratulations on all those awards!

This is a plea for help as I am no longer able to care for my beess, just when they need attention. The new package is all but extinct, I think.  The other hive is busy and there's probably honey to harvest!
I am not strong enough  to pry and lift or able to be in the sun and heat to check what's going on (due to Parkinson's Disease). I'm wondering  if anyone could help out; perahps combine with your own extraction.

I live in Wyndfall, just off Old NC 10, a mile east of the Wal-Mart/Home Depot Mall. My phone is  919- 245 - 3297.

Thanks and regards,
Aggie DaCosta

Subject: [ocba] NCSBA Meeting Update

Hello Beekeepers,
Greetings from the NCSBA meeting in Rowan. OCBA had a very good showing at the banquet tonight. OCBA member Randall Austin received his Master Beekeeper award this evening along with 5 other folks. OCBA received a Golden Achievement award for our activities in 2009. Geneva Green brought home a 3rd place for her wax carving. Gail Young won a 2nd place for her cooking and a 3rd place for her extracted light honey. John Wallace won a 2nd place for his light chunk honey, a 1st for his light cut comb, and 1st for light extracted honey. Lewis won a 2nd for his extracted light honey, and 3 first place ribbons for light section (Ross Rounds), amber extracted, and light chunk.

OCBA swept the light extracted competition (John 1st, Lewis 2nd, Gail 3rd). A great night!

Cheers,

Lewis
