Rivka, I didn't take it personally, I just hadn't known what those things are called until today.
No, I didn't actually type in the captcha. I rarely have any trouble with them, but I do need a place to type it in in order to do it.
We'll get this figured out.....

Captchas are generally an automatic part of the system; it's not
suspicious of you in particular, just of everybody in general.

Did you actually type in the captcha into the box provided? If not, you
need to do that. If so, you must have read it wrong; the system should
give you another one. Keep trying until you get one that you can read
correctly. One of the problems with captchas is that, in the process of
trying to make them impossible for computers to read, they're often
difficult for humans to read also.

Today, I looked up the word "captcha". I wasn't familiar with the word

It seems that the system doesn't believe that I'm a real person. I'm
not sure why.
I just now tried signing up using Explorer as a browser instead of my
usual Firefox browser. Same result.

Lawrence, (or anyone else), what triggers that "invalid captcha" result?
Lawrence, I'll send you the email address I'm trying to use so maybe
you can fix things for me.
