Sherwin, I've replaced Imidan mostly with Asana for the estate and home

latest blooming apples. Coddling moth hasn't been a problem as far as
later generations and for some reason I never have a problem with apple fly
maggot although commercial growers in my area commonly have to deal with
it, requiring later sprays.

I manage about 100 orchards and have been gradually shifting away from
Imidan for the last 4 years. Small commercial orchards I spray get Avaunt.

Alan,

One important thing you did not mention is why you switched
away from Imidan.

If the reason is cost, for small backyard growers, this may not be
a problem.

If it is longer lasting (10 to 14 days) as opposed to Imidan (7-10 days),
that is an advantage. Here in the Midwest, we generally have to
continue spraying from after petal fall till shortly before harvest
to control insects. Does this Asana allow you to shorten this
spray schedule? One of the strong features of Imidan is the wide
range of insects it controls. Can the same be said for Asana?

The advertising for Asana claims it resists sun and rain. Is this because
it has a built in sticker/spreader?

I have a goodly supply of Imidan that I would like to use up, so if there
are no major advantages to switching to Asana, I won't do it. A quick
search on the web did not show any suppliers for it. Is it readily available
in garden stores, or is it too new to show up there?
