Hi all,
I'm building a greenhouse and plan to plant my potted fruit collection in
the ground--to set them free as it were. I've got figs, dwarf peaches,
citrus, vinifera grapes and lots of other stuff.

My question relates to the grapes. Vinifera grapes are typically grafted
on American or hybrid rootstocks to avoid potentially fatal infestations of
root phylloxera.

My vines came from Lon Rombaugh years ago as unrooted cuttings and now, of
course, are on their own roots. I grow a number of grapes outside and I
presume that phylloxera is in the area or will be at some point. Will my
pure viniferas start pushing up daisies if I plant them in the ground or
should I just keep on growing the buggers in pots (with the daily watering,
etc.)

Thanks all!
