Jim,

I got for my sister in South Dakota (sone 4b) some of your pequot peach and
also another peach that had not fruited for you yet. This year she got a
bumper crop of peaches (almost a bushel) from the Pequot peach and 5 peaches
from the other. The 5 peaches were delicious but small. The Pequot peach was
also very good (she has 3 trees) and did not ripen until the end of August.
She saved all the pits and planted them. The other tree ripened the middle
of August. Both groups of trees are suffering from Gummosis at the base,
although all have sprouted from the base and I plan to cut the main branch
and let the sprouts grow. The Pequot is definitely more vigorous. Have you
had a problem with Gummosis?

I have a peach of unknown origin growing here in zone 3. I plant every
peach pit I get a hold of and this one has withstood -35 degrees. It hasn't
produced any fruit yet and I'll let you know what it does, when it does.
I have grown Sib-Cs here all of which have been plagued with Peach Leaf
Curl, a problem not affecting this new mystery peach.
