Here's an interesting thread by various amateur tomato breeders working with
the gene for purple-skinned tomatoes:

Shows what gardeners can do with a really easily-bred plant like that.


I got some (non-purple) tomato seeds from Wild Boar Farm to try this year, as
the word on the web is that they taste as good as they look. I haven't tried
any of these fancy new things myself yet.

Melissa,

Those are really great sites!  Thanks for sharing.  I had no idea this much
variety and work was being done.  Do yo have any suggestions for what to try?

Deer do eat Aronia in south central Montana. I have to net the plants to
get fruit. They eat flowers as well as foliage.
