Dear Group,
Many of you have received scion wood from the Claypool breed efforts. Many
of these should now be bearing as I've been distributing for 15 years.
I'm compiling a file of American persimmon reports of varieties at various
locations. Could you take the time to write a brief description, even if
only three words. It not need be too detailed. Need seed information such as
fully seeded, 3 to 4 seeds or seedless. Named variety performance also.
Variety performance varies with location. Example, one grower reported that
D-128
was too soft at his location in Louisiana and went splat when falling. He
grafted it over to another variety.
Another example Ennis is seedless here in central Indiana but fully seeded
in central Kentucky. This is vital information.
Jerry
