New to the list.

I am just outside of Troy, NY and I am planting grapes this spring
(Marquette, Frontenac, Brianna, St. Pepin, Steuben)
and while the winter weather has me inside far too much, i was looking online
at some of the older varieties of grapes.

One variety, Pocklington, was developed not too far north of me in (now
Hudson Falls) Sandy Hill, NY.
I was wondering if anyone knows about Pocklington's current status? Does
anyone still grow Pocklington?

Also, I found that there was a C. Engle(no relation) in Paw Paw, Michigan who
developed 10 grape varieties, mostly from the Salem, though it seems like the
majority were poor producers(I believe called shy)
Varieties: Vesta, Metis, Michigan, Pulpless, Guinevra, Honey, Elaine, Iris,
Olita, Themis.

I presume that there were quite a few people who developed new grape
varieties that have faded into history?
