Thanks, Alan: I always appreciate your input/perspective. What to me makes
this an odd scenario is that the yuckier fruit is on a tree purchased from a
reputable nursery, while the stellar fruit is on a graft I made when
topworking an old Gala or Golden Del. tree. Mysteries abound, and they
certainly keep things interesting.
