I tried the same thing with American persimmons last year, and it looks like one out of about 15 made it. I also tried pawpaws, but none made it, even though they looked better than the persimmons for the first month. There must be some factor that controls whether the plant roots successfully, but I don't know what it is. I tried rooting hormone in some other experiments, but none of those were successful.
